It is not uncommon for adults to have skin problems and acne in adult males is not as rare as you may think. Some men also have body acne on their back, chest, upper arms, legs or buttocks. If you are plagued by this skin condition, here are some tips that can help you to control it.
Tips for facial acne:
Be very careful while shaving – If you happen to shave over a pimple and cut it, the bacteria can spread to other areas of your face and cause more acne to appear or get worse.
Make sure that you keep your hands off of your face as much as possible as unclean hands can also add more bacteria to your skin.
Wash your face regularly, twice a day would be good, but do not use harsh soaps or cleansers that can aggravate your skin even more.
Do not squeeze or prick your pimples. This is because of the bacteria thing again and by doing this it can also lead to scarring.
Tips for body acne:
Shower regularly and practice good hygiene. If you exercise or do any physical activities that have caused you to sweat, take a shower as soon as possible afterwards.
Do not wear tight fitting clothing over the parts of your body where the acne is present as the fabric can be an irritant.
If you have acne on your chest or back, wearing a loose fitting cotton shirt will allow for more air circulation and evaporation of sweat.
By following these tips you can get a good start on controlling your acne. You do not have to live with bad skin forever, but you will have to take the steps to do something about it.
